The objects Exponential is built from, each in two sentences, with a link to its guide

Exponential uses a small, fixed vocabulary. This page defines each term the way the product uses it; the guides go deeper.

Workspace

The container everything else lives in: projects, goals, meetings, members, plugins and settings. You get a personal workspace when you sign up and can create more for a team or a client; switch between them from the top of the sidebar. See Workspaces.

Project

A container for related work with a status, a priority, an optional owner and end date, and its own kanban board. Projects can belong to a product, be linked to goals and key results, and be restricted so only named members see them. See Projects.

Action

A single thing to do: the unit of daily work, with a due date, a priority, an optional project and assignee. Actions come from you, from a meeting Zoe processed, from a chat message, from the iOS shortcut or the browser extension, and show up in Inbox and Today. See Actions.

Epic

A group of related actions that together form a bigger initiative, such as a launch or a campaign. Every epic belongs to a product, so epics need the Product Management plugin and the workspace's Advanced Action Features switched on. See Epics.

Goal and key result

A goal (called an objective in OKR screens) is a strategic outcome; a key result is the number that says whether you are getting there, updated through check-ins. Projects and features link to key results as the work that moves them. See Goals and OKRs.

Meeting

A recorded conversation: transcript, summary and participants, usually arriving from Fireflies. Zoe extracts actions and decisions from it once you assign it to a project. A scheduled meeting is a future calendar booking and is a different thing. See Fireflies.

Decision

A recorded choice with its context, the alternatives considered, who decided and when, and the meeting it came from. Decisions live in the workspace Decision Log under Align in the sidebar and can be formalised as architecture decision records. See Decisions.

Ceremony and occurrence

A ceremony is a recurring team meeting defined once: standup, planning, review, retrospective, with a cadence, participants and an agenda template. Each date it happens is an occurrence, which collects the agenda, the recorded meeting, and the decisions and actions that came out of it. Managed at workspace settings → Ceremonies. Page

A free-form document, written by you or by Zoe, that stands on its own: a spec, a wiki page, a brief. Pages are workspace-scoped, can attach to a project, and are searchable by Zoe. Find them under Deliver → Pages in the sidebar. See Pages.

Product, feature, ticket and cycle

A product is a unit of delivery with its own backlog; features are the permanent registry of what the product is made of; tickets are the engineering work items inside it; cycles are the time boxes tickets are planned into. Actions and tickets are different things: a ticket may have child actions, but a ticket is a product artefact and an action is a piece of daily work. These need the Product Management plugin; see Plugins.
