Mobile app

Exponential runs as a web app you can install on iPhone or Android. Installed, it opens full-screen from your home screen with a bottom bar for Inbox, Today, Calendar and Plan, and it can send you push notifications.

Where to find it

There is no App Store or Play Store listing. Open Exponential in your phone's browser and install it from the browser menu, as below.

How to install on iPhone

1. Open Exponential in Safari (other iOS browsers cannot install web apps).
2. Tap the Share button.
3. Tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.

How to install on Android

1. Open Exponential in Chrome.
2. Tap the ⋮ menu.
3. Tap Install app (or Add to Home screen) and confirm.

How to turn on push notifications

1. In the installed app, go to Settings → Notifications.
2. Under Push Notifications, tap Enable Notifications and accept the permission prompt.
3. To stop them, come back and tap Disable.

On iPhone, push only works from the installed home-screen app, not from a Safari tab. Which notifications reach you is set on the same page — see Notifications.

How it connects

• Notifications — choose which events arrive as push.

FAQ

Does it work offline? No. The installed app needs a connection; nothing is cached for offline reading.

Is it different from the website? Same app, same account. Installing gives you a home-screen icon, a full-screen window and push notifications.

I see "Push notifications are not supported on this device". Your browser cannot receive web push. On iPhone, install the app to your home screen first and open it from there.

Notifications are blocked. Allow notifications for Exponential in your phone's settings, then tap Enable Notifications again.
