Chat with intelligent AI agents to get help with tasks, projects, and productivity

Overview

The AI Assistant is your intelligent productivity partner. Chat with AI agents to get help with task management, project planning, meeting insights, and general productivity questions.

Accessing the AI Assistant

Navigate to Agent in the sidebar to open the full chat interface.

Chat Interface

The AI Assistant page has two main areas:

  • New Chat - Start a fresh conversation
  • Conversation History - View and resume past chats
  • Agent Selection - Choose which AI agent to talk to

Chat Area

  • Agent Header - Shows current active agent with dropdown to switch
  • Message History - Your conversation with the AI
  • Input Field - Type your questions and requests

Using the Assistant

Starting a Conversation

  1. Navigate to Agent in the sidebar
  2. Type your question or request in the input field
  3. Press Enter or click Send
  4. The AI will respond with helpful information

Example Conversations

Task Help:

"What should I focus on today?"
"Help me prioritize my tasks for this week"
"Create a task to review the quarterly report by Friday"

Project Management:

"What's the status of my active projects?"
"Help me plan the marketing campaign project"
"What tasks are overdue?"

Meeting Insights:

"Summarize my recent meeting with the design team"
"What action items came from yesterday's standup?"
"Find all tasks related to the product launch"

General Productivity:

"How can I be more productive this week?"
"Help me set up a morning routine"
"What are best practices for goal setting?"

Working with Agents

Available Agents

The assistant may include multiple specialized agents. The default agent is Paddy, your general productivity assistant.

Switching Agents

  1. Click the agent name in the header
  2. Select a different agent from the dropdown
  3. Continue your conversation with the new agent

Or type @agentname at the start of your message to direct it to a specific agent.

Agent Capabilities

Each agent has access to:

  • Your projects and tasks
  • Your goals and outcomes
  • Meeting transcripts and notes
  • Your knowledge base
  • Integration data (Fireflies, Slack, etc.)

Conversation Management

Starting a New Chat

Click New Chat in the sidebar to start fresh. Your previous conversation is saved and can be resumed later.

Resuming Conversations

  1. Look in the sidebar for your conversation history
  2. Click on any past conversation to resume it
  3. The full context is restored

Conversation Context

The AI remembers:

  • The current conversation thread
  • Your preferences from past interactions
  • Your projects, tasks, and goals
  • Recent activity in your workspace

What the AI Can Do

Task Management

  • Create new tasks from natural language
  • Update task status and priority
  • Find tasks by criteria
  • Suggest task prioritization

Project Insights

  • Summarize project status
  • Identify blocked or overdue items
  • Suggest next actions
  • Track progress over time

Meeting Support

  • Summarize meeting transcripts
  • Extract action items
  • Find meeting-related tasks
  • Search meeting content

Planning & Strategy

  • Help with goal setting
  • Weekly review preparation
  • Daily planning
  • Priority management

Tips for Better Results

Be Specific

Good: "What tasks in the Marketing project are due this week?" Less Good: "What's going on?"

Provide Context

Good: "I'm preparing for the quarterly review meeting tomorrow. What should I focus on?" Less Good: "Help me prepare."

Ask Follow-ups

The AI remembers your conversation, so you can ask follow-up questions:

  1. "What are my active projects?"
  2. "Tell me more about the second one."
  3. "What tasks are overdue in that project?"

Use Natural Language

You don't need special commands. Just talk naturally:

  • "Can you help me..."
  • "I need to..."
  • "What's the best way to..."

Privacy & Data

What the AI Can Access

The AI can access data in your account:

  • Projects and tasks you've created
  • Goals and outcomes you've defined
  • Meeting transcripts (from Fireflies integration)
  • Knowledge base content
  • Your conversation history

What the AI Cannot Access

  • Other users' private data
  • Data from workspaces you're not a member of
  • External systems without configured integrations

Conversation Storage

Conversations are stored to:

  • Allow you to resume later
  • Improve AI responses over time
  • Provide context for follow-up questions

Troubleshooting

AI Not Responding

If the AI doesn't respond:

  1. Check your internet connection
  2. Try refreshing the page
  3. Start a new conversation
  4. If issues persist, contact support

Unexpected Responses

If responses seem off:

  1. Rephrase your question more specifically
  2. Provide additional context
  3. Start a new conversation for a fresh context

Missing Data

If the AI doesn't know about something:

  1. Ensure the data exists in Exponential
  2. Check that you have the right workspace selected
  3. Verify integrations are connected
